Yoga and Ayurveda each have immense benefits and have always proved beneficial to mankind. But, what is noteworthy is that even when they are independent, they are interrelated. Originating from the vedas, Yoga is incepted from the Yajur veda while Ayurveda is incepted from Atharva and Rig veda. While Yoga is the spiritual face of Ayurveda, Ayurveda is the healing face of Yoga. Together when these disciplines are practiced, in sync with nature, the benefits derived are infinite.

Although both of them are not an instant fix to any health problem, they are more of a kind of journey that will take its own course of time, but combat the root of the problem, while having positive side effects like giving inner peace and creating positive energy around us. They touch on all the aspects of mind, body and soul, thereby making each one of us a better human being.
Practicing only the various poses of Yoga and meditation is only 50 percent of the healing regime.

The other 50 percent benefit can be garnered by effectively implementing the principles of Ayurveda in one’s life. Ayurvedic Treatments like Abhyangam and Shirodhara can be incorporated to improve one’s practice of Yoga. Balancing the components of the body like having satvik food habits, aromatherapy, detox programs etc. will help in creating the desired environment for the body, which when created will give the optimal solution required.
